What is Pro-Contact?
Pro-Contact began in 1999 as a response to the lack of supervised contact facilities in private law proceedings.
Acting on a Home Office grant Pro-Contact opened for business in 2000 and in 2002 gained charitable status and became fully operational from its own base.
Pro-Contact now operates over Greater Manchester and beyond offering a wide range of services with a flexible, family-friendly approach.
Children’s interests are at the heart of all interventions and assessments. For the vast majority of children some direct contact with a non-resident parent is the best way to protect their interests; where this isn’t possible Pro-Contact works to minimise any damage caused by that gap in the child’s experience.
Pro-Contact President and Patrons

Patron: Lord Justice Nicolas Wall.
Patron: District Judge Brazier.
Why Pro-Contact?
Children are damaged by ongoing conflict as well as separation and so Pro-Contact works hard with all families to find an arrangement that balances the need for contact with any risk of harm.
Abuse and violence are not acceptable and are damaging to children even when they are not the immediate victims. Separation from a parent or family member or, sometimes, another attachment figure also carries risks for a child.
Pro-Contact works with other professionals and with parents to ensure an outcome that is best for children and manageable by others it affects.
Pro-Contact helps families with many different needs during or following separation.
Pro-Contact is a registered charity and a registered business
Pro-Contact is registered with the Charity Commission No. 1091496 and Companies House No. 4142411.
